At Twenty11 we are committed to promoting sustainable living and reducing our impact on the environment. One way we can all make a difference is by properly managing our waste and recycling.
Are you unsure about which bin to use, when your bins are collected, or where to take your waste? Visit the Buckinghamshire Council Waste and recycling website. You can even search for an item and they'll tell you how to recycle, compost or dispose of it - easy!
Recycling is important because it helps conserve natural resources, reduce pollution, and save energy. When we recycle, we reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill, where it can take hundreds of years to decompose and can release harmful greenhouse gases. By recycling, we can reduce our carbon footprint and help to protect the environment for future generations.
We encourage all our tenants to make use of the Buckinghamshire Council's recycling services and to do their part in reducing waste.
Together, we can make a difference and create a more sustainable future.
Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste, whether it's a single bag or a vehicle-load of rubbish. We work with Buckinghamshire Council to ensure that wherever possible offenders are prosecuted. Fly-tipping is punishable by an unlimited fine or imprisonment.
If you see any waste dumped on Twenty11-owned land please tell us as soon as possible by sending us a portal message or an email. All information is useful so tell us as much as you can, including the number plate of any vehicle being used.
When we receive a report of fly-tipping, we will first confirm that we are the landowners. If so we will instruct our contractors to attend - they will do so within five working days. Anything representing a specific fire risk or risk of danger will be removed by our contractors within 24 hours.
If the fly-tipping is on land belonging to Buckinghamshire Council or a private owner, please use FixMyStreet to report the problem. If you are not sure who the landowner is, tell us about it anyway and we will find out.
If we discover that you are responsible for fly-tipping on our land, we will recharge you the full cost of removal and disposal and we may take legal action against you, which if you are one of our tenants could lead to you losing your home.
S: Suspect all waste carriers, especially anyone who cold calls, or contacts you about waste removal.
C: Check they are a registered waste carrier via the Environment Agency website.
R: Refuse any unexpected offers to have your rubbish taken away.
A: Ask what will happen to your rubbish and seek evidence that it is going to be disposed of appropriately.
P: Paperwork must be obtained for the transfer of waste from businesses, but householders should also ask for a receipt.
Another top tip is to never pay cash. It is untraceable and legitimate waste carriers will accept cards, bank transfers or cheques.

Your safety is our priority. If you come across any hazardous items such as needles, broken glass, or other sharps anywhere on our land, please let us know immediately by sending us a portal message or an email and help us keep our environment safe and clean for everyone.
Did you know that you can arrange for Buckinghamshire Council to come and collect your unwanted bulky items? They can collect all sorts from carpets and mattresses to beds, furniture, domestic fridges and freezers.
We are responsible for the dog waste bins on our land, so if you spot one that needs emptying, or another issue, then please tell us as soon as possible by sending us a portal message or an email. If you're not sure if it's on Twenty11 land, tell us about it anyway and we will find out.
The burning of waste materials can lead not only to unpleasant odours but also the release of a cocktail of potentially poisonous chemicals into the air. The smoke and smell they produce can also cause a nuisance to your neighbours.
The good news is that there are many environmentally-friendly alternatives:
