When Mubashir starting working with the Realising Potential team in 2024, he was working as an Uber driver. While this provided an income, he was looking for a career that would offer greater flexibility, improved earning potential, and better long-term stability for his family.
From the outset, Mubashir had a clear ambition: to become a qualified driving instructor. With support from his Realising Potential Specialist, a tailored action plan (Personal Success Plan - PSP) was developed to help him achieve this goal.
Mubashir completed two PSPs over the course of his journey. During his first PSP, he applied for Aspiration Pot funding to cover the cost of his Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) qualification and training course.
Before funding could be approved, a small amount of household arrears needed to be cleared. With this resolved, Mubashir successfully secured funding, enabling him to enrol on a driving instructor training course with a local provider.
His second PSP focused on completing his training and preparing for the ADI qualification process. Although Mubashir faced setbacks and did not pass his exam on his first two attempts, he remained committed to his goal. With determination, ongoing support from his instructor, and encouragement from his Reading Potential Specialist, he persevered.
His hard work paid off. On his final attempt, Mubashir passed his ADI exam with an outstanding Grade A; the highest possible grade, achieving an impressive score of 45 out of 51.
His family shared their appreciation:

He is officially a driving instructor, and all of this would not have happened if it was not for all your help and funding his career aspirations."
Since completing his PSP, Mubashir has confirmed that his employment situation has significantly improved in a feedback survey. He has successfully transitioned into his chosen career, increasing his earning potential while securing a more flexible and sustainable future for himself and his family.
