Our Community Potential Specialists (CPS) love to hear about our tenants’ interests and hobbies – what do you love to spend your time doing?
One of our CPSs, Maddie, had a home check with a tenant called Brandon, which sparked a fascinating conversation about programming and the way our devices function.
Brandon’s dream was to make this hobby his career, but he had obstacles in his way. He not only needed equipment, but also a certificate in game development. Maddie knew straight away that this was something we could help with.
Maddie worked alongside Brandon in setting up a Personal Success Plan with a 6-month goal of working, enrolling, and completing a course that would support him in becoming a self-employed game developer.
With Maddie's guidance, Brandon also applied for Aspiration Pot funding to support him on his journey; this was successful and allowed Twenty11 to purchase him a brand new state-of-the-art gaming laptop! Since then, he’s made huge progress in his ability to modify games and has completed a range of courses.
Brandon has worked incredibly hard, and his progress reflects this.
