Why Pride Month matters at Twenty11

June is Pride Month – a time to celebrate and stand alongside lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and other LGBTQ+ people.

At Twenty11, we believe everyone should feel safe, respected and at home, regardless of who they are or who they love. This includes all of our LGBTQ+ tenants and their families.

This is the first year we’re recognising Pride. For us, it’s about something simple but meaningful: being clear that discrimination and harassment are not acceptable, and that everyone matters.

We know that for some people, being LGBTQ+ can mean a higher risk of harassment, hate incidents or feeling unsafe at home. As your landlord, we take this very seriously.

We want to reassure you that:

  • We do not tolerate hate or harassment
  • We will listen and take action if you raise concerns
  • Support is available if you need it

If you ever feel unsafe, or experience abuse or harassment because of who you are, please let us know. We are here to help and will treat your concerns with care and respect.

Pride Month also reminds us that our homes and neighbourhoods are made up of people from many different backgrounds. Treating each other with respect helps make our communities safer and stronger for everyone.

As our Antisocial Behaviour Team leader Paul says:

"Feeling safe at home should never depend on who you are or who you are in a relationship with. If any of our tenants are facing harassment or feel unsafe, we encourage them to speak to us so we can support them."
