Aspiration Pot funding supports tenants at Christmas Arts & Crafts Fair

Two Twenty11 tenants took part in the Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair at Wycombe Arts Centre, an event that brought an early taste of Christmas to High Wycombe.

Over the weekend of 11th/12th November, the former church hall on Desborough Road was filled with artists, crafters and artisans whose wide range of beautifully made items gave visitors to the Fair plenty of choice for their Christmas gift shopping.

Among the stallholders was Sheika, who runs a small business called Shairenity, specialising in hand-made natural skincare and haircare products. We've helped Sheika to grow both her business and her career, using our Aspiration Pot to fund some business essentials such as a card reader, as well as a project management qualification. Her small business is really taking off, and she’s also secured a job as a Scrum Master Expert for an international business starting soon.

Another talented Twenty11 tenant, Richard, brought his artwork and leather products to the Fair. We've supported Richard with his business, Adsol, through our Aspiration Pot - he received £1,200 for a piece of equipment called a plotter (a huge material cutter) to assist with cutting harder materials such as leather and also allowing him to make other items to sell, such as personalised stickers and t-shirts.

Richard has worked with Maddie, one of our Community Potential Specialists, to create a Personal Success Plan helping him to focus on building and enhancing his business in the hope that it can become his full-time job. He is also looking to set up small group workshops for young people who may not be on the right path in life, in order to teach them a useful and rewarding craft.

As well as all the wonderful and creative talent on display across the stalls, there was also an exciting lineup of entertainment and activities, all helping to make the weekend a delightful start to the festive season.
