Our summer fun tips

School summer holidays have officially begun, the sun may not be out, but schools definitely are!

We know it can be a struggle to keep the little (and not-so-little!) ones entertained every day without breaking the bank, so we’ve pulled together some fun low cost activities to do over the summer:

  • Anyone for tennis? If the kids loved Wimbledon, serve up an ace day out at Tennis for Free.
  • Find a free festival - search the Eventbrite website for one near you, or check out the list at Money Saving Expert.
  • If your kids love animals, find out about free workshops at your local Pets At Home store.
  • Check out what’s happening at your local library and sign up for access to free books, DVDs and online reads all year round.
  • Visit a free museum or art gallery – there’s plenty going on at Wycombe Museum.
  • ZSL  are offering discounted tickets for London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo , for as little as £3.
  • Visit the new and improved Higginson Park - in Marlow.
  • Head to Bucks Adult Learning (family learning) to see what free courses are on over summer that the kids can join in with.
  • Love Exploring is an exciting new app encouraging families and communities to explore their local area, parks and green spaces more through walking - find out more and download the app.

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages where we’ll be sharing more free summer fun.

With money on our minds, please do remember that rent must come first. We want you to have the best summer possible, without risking your family home. Don’t be tempted to suspend your direct debit payments over the summer periods - it can be easy to fall into debt this way. If you need any support, just drop us a message via the portal and we will try our best to assist.
