Katie set up a Personal Success Plan at the beginning of October, a few months after moving into her Twenty11 home. Katie is a single mum to three young children and aspires to find a career that can offer her a steady income and flexibility around childcare. After an initial chat with her Community Potential Specialist (CPS), Katie decided that she'd like to pursue a term-time only role at a local school, but she was worried that she lacked experience to apply for school-based roles.
By looking with her CPS at online courses and researching what skills she would need to work in education, Katie has successfully enrolled on a Level 2 qualified online childcare course and has already passed her initial modules!
Katie has also been successful with her Aspiration Pot application for funding for her own laptop, as she was sharing a small tablet with her children and she needed her own device to use for her online course. She'll also be using the laptop for updating her CV, job applications and researching volunteering placements. She's hoping that within a few months' time, she'll be fully prepared to start a fantastic new career in education.
We can't wait to see what Katie achieves in future and will be supporting her every step of the way.
